Donald K. Johnston was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He is a graduate of University of Toronto where he earned his Bachelor of Arts at Victoria College and his L.L.B. from the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law.
Don re-located to Welland to join the Nash, Tolmie Law Firm as a partner in 1963. He later became the sole practitioner of Donald Johnston Law Office specializing in real estate, corporate and estate law.
He served with distinction as a Deputy Judge in the Court of Ontario (Small Claims) for many years.
He was Chairman of the Niagara South Board of Education and an elected Trustee, Past-President of the Welland YMCA and a Past-President of the Welland-Thorold Community Concert Association.
An accomplished athlete and natural leader, Don was twice inducted to University of Toronto’s Sports Hall of Fame for two football teams on which he played that won the Yates Cup. He was a co-captain and also coached the U of T “Baby Blues” intramural team to a winning championship.
Don believes in the importance of serving his clients with honesty, integrity, reliability and a sense of humour.
